Trading leveraged instruments carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all your invested capital. Read this disclosure carefully before enabling live trading.
Foreign exchange, metals, indices, cryptocurrencies and other CFDs are leveraged products. Small market movements can produce large losses, and you may lose more than you expect. You should not trade with money you cannot afford to lose. Past performance — real or simulated — does not guarantee future results.
QuantumProtocol automates the execution of strategies you choose. Automation can act faster than a human, but it can also lose faster. Software bugs, misconfiguration, connectivity or power loss, broker outages, requotes, slippage, weekend gaps and extreme volatility can all cause the automation to behave differently than intended.
Stop-losses, drawdown halts, basket stop-losses, trailing stops and daily-loss limits are designed to reduce risk. They cannot guarantee a maximum loss. A stop-loss may be filled at a worse price than requested during gaps or illiquidity, and orders may not execute at all if a broker or the market is unavailable.
A high win rate can hide large tail losses. QuantumProtocol deliberately reports profit factor, expectancy and maximum drawdown alongside win rate, and counts break-even trades as losses, so you can judge risk-adjusted performance rather than a flattering headline number. The maximum drawdown is the number that best describes what a strategy can cost you.
Simulated (“demo”) results and backtests are hypothetical. They benefit from hindsight, may not account for real execution costs, and do not represent actual trading. They are provided for education and evaluation only and are clearly labelled as simulated throughout the platform.
Grid and martingale-style strategies can show many small wins followed by a single large loss. Increasing position size after losses amplifies risk dramatically. Keep the basket stop-loss and drawdown halt enabled, and understand that these strategies can lose a large portion of an account quickly in a strong trend.
